In July 2008, Cindy Anthony, informed police of her granddaughter’s disappearance. When this happened, Cindy hadn’t been in contact with her daughter for a month. Cindy was told that her granddaughter, Caylee, had been missing for 31 days.

In the same phone call, Cindy says, “There’s something wrong… I found my daughter’s car today… and it smells like there’s been a dead body in the damn car!”

Cindy Anthony went above and beyond to look for her daughter. Casey was found at her boyfriend’s apartment in Orlando, Florida. Upon asking where her granddaughter was, Casey claimed that she had been kidnapped by her nanny, Zenaida-Fernandez Gonzalez, a month ago.

According to Casey, she had met Zenaida through a guy named Jeffrey Michael Hopkins. Apparently, she worked with a woman named Juliette Lewis at Universal Studios.

Jeffrey denied the claims. Juliette worked at the premises over 2 years ago. Zenaida never existed. Casey took investigators to a bunch of fake addresses. She stalled them at Universal Studios. With a laugh, she revealed to them that it was not her workplace.

Eventually, it was obvious that Casey made up lies to mislead the police. When she was taken to jail, she called her family and asked them for her boyfriend’s number. She said that the call was a “huge” waste.

In December 2008, Caylee’s remains were found. The place was less than a mile away from the family home. Her body was wrapped in a blanket inside a laundry bag. It was believed that her nose and mouth were covered with duct tape. Immediately, it was ruled a murder.

Photo evidence showed Casey partying days after her daughter’s disappearance. She got a tattoo in Italian which loosely translated to “beautiful life.”

She made entries on her diary stating, “I completely trust my own judgment and I knew I made the right decision.”

The same page read, “This is the happiest that I have been in a very long time. I hope that my happiness will continue to grow. ”

After a long battle, Casey Marie Anthony was found not guilty on 5th July 2011. Her cold-hearted behavior truly shocked the world. Many believe that Casey Anthony got away with it.

On 16th June 2008, Caylee’s grandparents waved her goodbye without realizing that it would be their last. She would’ve been 16 years old.

To this day, her murderer remains unknown and free.
